The article proposes a conceptual analysis of the cultural tourism market and profile tourist. way in which, depending on different types motivations, can be subdivided into number sub-markets or niche markets such as: tangible heritage (tangible), intangible culture (intangible), city breaks, tastings (food wine), community which experiences are managed by local communities religious / spiritual tourism. Cultural tourists individuals groups looking for distinct experiences, focusing visual arts entertainment, architecture, cooking crafts, often combining primary motivation with secondary motivation. is linked to tourists, here generational component seems particularly relevant. Identifying understanding most appropriate tourist motivations needs travel critical step attracting cities values. validate importance heritage, through experience these destinations, income from this type contributes prosperity businesses, while supporting activities related culture, art public services. methodology used includes bibliographic documentation analysis, detailing exemplification tourism, as well investigation relationship between availability goods motivation, typology tourists.
